The following Parish Register Transcripts and Marriage Indexes
are available. Most of these transcripts were originally made by Herbert Maxwell
Wood (1869-1929) and are mainly in manuscript and unindexed. Other transcripts
were published by the Durham & Northumberland Parish Register Society
earlier this century, and are indexed.
The marriage indexes, compiled by the
late Mr W.E. Rounce, alphabetical by male name, show names, date, parishes of
origin, spinster/bachelor/widow etc and whether by licence. They are in
manuscript.
